In the Mojave Desert a trail winds though a seemingly barren landscape. For those who travel and explore this road, a fascinating array of human and natural history is revealed. The Mojave Road is a microcosm of California history. Originally it was a trade route for the Pi-Ute tribe who made this region their home. The region has been traversed by numerous people ranging from the Spanish to mountain men to the pioneers looking for opportunity in the West. There have been many famous names, such a John C. Freemont, among these travelers. All have added to the history of the region known as the Mojave Road.
The documentary “Heritage Trails: The Mojave Road” will feature the stories that exist along this route. This film will chronicle all aspects relating to the history of the Mojave Road including historic photos, maps and interviews with contemporary experts.
The Mojave Road will continue to exist as long as there are people to preserve the stories of those who traveled and lived there.
